Bhadrabahu Gufa at Shravanbelagola


Acharya Bhadrabahu took his last breath here. Acharya Bhadrabahu was one of the most important Acharya in the history of Jainism. He was spiritual guide and preceptor of Emperor Chandragupta Maurya, the fonder of Mauryan dynasty and the Grand Father of Ashok Maurya.

This cave is situated at Chandragiri hill of Shravanabelagola in Karnataka. The hill was named Chandragiri after emperor Chandragupta took his last breath on this hill.
